Blue

Blue seems to be my favorite color at the moment.
Every new bag I make these days seems to want a shade of blue on it.

I am hoping to get my new backpack design done soon! It has been in my mind for awhile and ready to create it, but finding the time is hard these days. But I can't complain I am working full-time for myself now and never been happier or busier.

Earth Day

A beautiful day spent in the garden. Much needed after a long winter. The garden is quickly being smothered with weeds but after a few hours of digging and pulling grass I could see all of last years rows. It is looking so much better. Now it is time for planting ! This year I know my garden will be much smaller then previous years due to a busy busy spring but hopefully by June we will be eating some fresh greens from our little garden. Happy Earth Day to you!

Cuba

(All photos were taken with my old film Pentax camera)

I do not usually post of adventures from the past but I was looking thru some old photos recently and decided to show some photos from a long ago adventure to Cuba with my 2 older brothers. I traveled to Cuba for a month during my last year in high school. It was truly an amazing trip. I learned so much about our world and realized so quick how complicated life is in Cuba. The people and the culture was amazing but the government control over the Cuban people was often very hard to deal with. It is such a complex place. But I hope to go back someday and visit the beautiful people and island of Cuba again.

Quiet Colors

Colors, they have been on my mind lately. Well they are usually are on my mind. I think about colors a lot, but this week I have been thinking about colors for our little cabin. Next week I am going to begin painting the walls! It is such a small space so I have decided to use pale and neutral colors. But there are so many options. How to decide? While looking for inspiration I came up with a pretty color palette for myself. I grabbed a few pretty photos from these 3 pretty blogs! Color Collective, Le Dans La and Bleubird Vintage. Enjoy!

Behind the scenes

Taking photos is a huge part of my business. I have finally started to find a routine with the photo taking of my bags, but I know they still need to improve. Beacuse I sell most of my products on the web the photo of the product matters so so much. It has been one of my biggest challenges. I took these photos this weekend, sort of by accident but I really love them. When looking at Etsy I always wonder what is behind the scenes of each photo. The home where the product was made and the life before it had before coming to you. It is really fun to think about and love that there is this huge uprising of beautiful handmade products being made all over the world. Each with a totally unique story. So here are my behind the scene shots. Maybe more to come in the future. and p.s this is a new bag in my shop. A little bit smaller size wax canvas rucksack!

Spring Buds

Spring is in the air! Alex did some pruning on my dad's pear and apple tress so I stole some cuttings  and stuck them in a vase. Yesterday the pear buds started to bloom and it made me so happy. I love all the pretty bouquets people have in there homes this time of year. So many shades of pinks and yellows.

Well hope you are having a sunny and relaxing weekend! I am off to paint the cabin and exciting news we got electricity yesterday! Alex spent 2 months working on it so we are quite pleased to have that finished and now moving on to the next project. But before I leave I wanted to share with you 2 lovely blog posts from this week that totally inspired me. I hope you will enjoy them too! and especially if you are a fellow crafter!
